Search for missing swimmer continues

The search for a man missing in Lake Michigan continued Saturday, the day after two women were pulled from the water by fishermen and a fourth member of their party drowned.

Chicago police said their helicopters and boats, along with those of the U.S. Coast Guard, are searching off Burnham Harbor where the sailboat the four were on launched.

Police said the sailboat drifted away from the group, who had dived into the water to go swimming in the early morning hours of Friday while not anchoring the boat.

The two women were rescued just after 6 a.m. by fishermen in another boat and are reported in fair condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The body of James Shepard, 21, of Chicago, was found by police Friday afternoon.

Officials are not releasing the names of the two women who have been rescued or the man for whom they still search.
