Softball, baseball tryouts slated

The Northern Illinois Lightning fastpitch softball organization will hold final tryouts for the 2010-11 season this weekend at Judson University in Elgin.

Tryouts for 14U and 16U teams will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tryouts for 18U and 18 & over will be held from 12-2 p.m. both days.

Fox Valley Renegades tryouts: The Renegades will hold softball tryouts at Jockey Field, 324 East 3rd Street in East Dundee on Saturday and Sunday for 12U and 14U from 9-11 a.m. and for 16U and 18U from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, contact Glenn Smith at (630) 936-9070.

Elgin Heat tryouts: The Elgin Heat softball organization will hold tryouts on Saturday at the Elgin Sports Complex. Tryouts for 12U and 14U will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and for 16U and 18U from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. For further information, e-mail heatcoachcoop@aol.com.

Huntley Hurricanes tryouts: The Huntley Hurricanes travel baseball organization will hold tryouts the next two Saturdays and Sundays at Guy Park in Lake in the Hills. This weekend, 10U tryouts will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Field No. 1 and for 12U on Field No. 3. Next weekend, 10U will be from 9-11 a.m. on Field 1, 12U the same time on Field 3 and 14U at the same time on Field 2.
