Elgin man charged with damaging ex-girlfriend's car

Bond was set Saturday at $10,000 for an Elgin man who faces felony charges that he used his truck to intentionally ram his ex-girlfriend's car.

Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Moe Ahmad said Gustavo Ortiz, 31, who lives in the first block of Highbury Street, drove his truck into the woman's unoccupied 2002 Saturn at 10:38 p.m. Friday while it was parked in the 900 block of Summit.

Cook County Associate Judge John J. Scotillo set a 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3 court date for Ortiz in courtroom 108 in the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
