Fielders rally in 9th, top Goldeyes
Trailing by 2 runs in the ninth inning, the Lake County Fielders rallied to defeat the host Winnipeg Goldeyes 8-6.
Winnipeg scored in the first and second innings and put Fielders starter Ryan Bicondoa behind the 8-ball as the Goldeyes went ahead 5-0.
Bicondoa, who allowed a run in the sixth, worked 7 innings and gave up 6 earned runs on 15 hits with 2 strikeouts.
The Fielders sent 10 men to the plate in the ninth inning and scored 4 runs. Reliever Chris Homer closed it out in the ninth.
Bandits top Racers: The Chicago Bandits (17-10) opened a three-game series in Omaha, Neb., against the Akron Racers with a 6-4 comeback win at Hall of Fame Fields. The Bandits' Kristina Thorson (7-2) pitched a complete game, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits with 8 strikeouts.
