Elgin police looking for robbery suspect
Elgin police are searching for a man they say robbed a downtown restaurant at gunpoint Thursday evening.
Lt. Glenn Theriault said the holdup occurred at Comachito Loco restaurant in the 0-99 block of North Street Street.
At 6:18 p.m., the man entered the eatery using the Highland Avenue door, displayed a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded cash, Theriault said.
He fled the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect, who left through the northern entrance, is described as a black man standing at 6 feet tall, with a medium build and weighing 190 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black shirt with white lettering or symbols and baggy blue denim shorts.
