Fox Valley area softball tryouts slated

Several area travel softball organizations will hold tryouts for the 2010-11 season in the upcoming weeks.

Northern Illinois Lightning: The Lightning will hold tryouts for 14U, 16U, 18U and 18 & over teams on Aug. 9-10 and Aug. 14-15 at Judson University in Elgin. Tryouts for 14U and 16U will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 9-10 and from 9-11 a.m. on Aug. 14-15. Tryouts for 18U and 18 & over will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Aug. 9-10 and from 12-2 p.m. on Aug. 14-15. Tidal Waves: The Crystal Lake Tidal Waves will be having tryouts at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake on the following dates: Aug. 3 for 14U, 16U and 18U from 6-8 p.m.; Aug. 5 for 10U, 11U and 12U from 6-8 p.m.; Aug. 7 for 10U, 11U and 12U from 12-2 p.m., 14U from 2-4 p.m. and for 16U and 18U from 4-6 p.m.; Aug. 8 for 10U, 11U and 12U from 12-2 p.m., 14U from 2-4 p.m. and 16U and 18U from 4-6 p.m.; and, Aug. 10 for 14U, 16U and 18U from 6-8 p.m. For more information log on to www.tidalwaves.org or e-mail Joe Albanese at joealbanese5@comcast.net.

Fox Valley Renegades: The Renegades will hold tryouts at Jockey Field, 324 East 3rd Street in East Dundee on the following dates: August 7-8 and Aug. 14-15 for 12U and 14U from 9-11 a.m. and for 16U and 18U from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both weekends.
