Mechanical failure behind stalled freight train in Mundelein

Mundelein police said a mechanical failure is the reason why a freight train stalled on tracks blocking Route 176.

They said Route 176 was blocked at Crossing Street at 10:21 a.m. They also said Dunbar Avenue was blocked.

Officials said it is unclear when the train will get rolling again, adding that mechanics are en route to the site to repair the train.

They added that cars are being rerouted around the delay.
