Flick in the parkThe International Latino Cultural Center in partnership with the City of Elgin will hold Cine en el Parque/Film in the Park summer series on Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Festival Park, 136 S. Grove Ave., Elgin. The film will be shown at dusk, with preshow activities beginning at 7 p.m., including a performance by Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl. There also will be games, raffles, giveaways and free long distance phone calls to anywhere in the world courtesy of Verizon Wireless. The feature film, "Un Lugar Lejano/A Distant Place," was filmed in Argentina, Venezuela and Spain. Using the tool, students, parents and staff can find nutritional information for items served at District 300 elementary schools. The calculator can be viewed at aramark.d300.org/aramark/nutritional-calculator. The food service vendor also plans to create calculators for the district's middle and high schools.
