Once you're here, live by our rules
I just finished reading the article regarding a Florida pastor who wants to burn the Quran. The insert article next to it has Matthew Miller stating, "Violence against individuals and institutions based on religious bias is intolerable and will bring anyone who commits such crimes to justice."
Mmmmmm, so let's see, I have seen many pictures and articles regarding foreigners from all over the world burning our American flag. I don't recall justice being served to those individuals. I also have read countless articles on how schools can no longer allow prayer of any religion in the school curriculum. Lots of articles on how "In God We Trust" should be taken off American currency.
Does anyone else see a theme here? We as Americans are told to play nice and not make waves with any foreign nation/individual. But the foreigners are allowed to come into our city and suburbs and continue living like they would if they were in their own countries.
This is the problem with our government. They expect Americans to be respectful of everyone's differences, yet the government allows all foreigners to do as they please.
Wake up, government. Until you make all people follow the laws of the state, country, world they live in, there will never be peace. I have no problem with foreigners coming to America, but they need to know that once they step foot in our backyard they live by our laws and rules.
Go ahead and pray, eat, drink, etc., like you're used to, but, don't step on our beliefs and ways in the process. We need to learn how to get along with everyone and unfortunately, our own government.
Let's stop all this finger pointing and name calling and get to work on how to make this world a better place for all. Everyone needs to learn how to respect one another, and those who abuse the system need to be help accountable for their actions and taught how to behave correctly in society.
