What qualifications does Alexi have?
Regarding the president's endorsement of Alexi Giannoulias for the important position of U.S. Senator: I will vote for Giannoulias for U.S. Senator as soon as the Pope ordains women to the priesthood.
May I again ask what outstanding qualifications Giannaoulias has for the lofty position of U.S. Senator other than the fact that it is legal for him to pursue the position, and, that he's running against a man who apparently likes to stretch the truth when describing his credentials?
But Mark Kirk at least apparently has some credentials to embellish. What are Giannoulias' credentials other than the fact that he's smart enough to want to start at one of the very top positions in U.S. government? Heck, a U.S. Senator only has to run every six years. And the benefits of the position are beyond anything most Americans currently experience.
No, I think the young Alexi, or any other candidate for public service at this level, needs to work their way up the ladder and/or possess some outstanding credentials relevant to the extraordinary position of U.S. Senator.
Frankly, I'm not sure either candidate, Giannoulias or Kirk, deserves serious consideration for the position. But I'm less sure about Giannoulias than I am about Kirk.
