Deadline Friday for Arlington Heights food drive

Where does the time go? One day we're getting ready for Thanksgiving, and the next it's last-minute time for Christmas.

Today, Friday, Dec. 10, is the deadline to help less fortunate Arlington Heights families enjoy the holiday.

Call the Health Department in village hall at (847) 368-5791 to make an appointment to drop off money or gifts.

Here are ways to help:

• Checks made to Holiday Assistance Program that will be used for food certificates or someone's overwhelming bills.

• Food certificates you purchase from any grocery store in town.

• New gifts still in packages. Please wrap and label all gifts with age, size, gender and include a brief description of the item.
