Quinn must get involved in strike, help resolve issue
It's time for Governor Quinn to get involved in the current strike that's affecting thousands of projects in and around the Chicago area and hurting thousands of workers, businesses and their families.
Given the current economic conditions it's difficult to understand the logic of unions telling their members to strike. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, current wages and benefits being paid to the striking unions are some of the highest in the country. Most of the projects affected by the strike are being paid for under the federal stimulus package, which of course is ultimately paid for by the taxpayer.
If Mr. Quinn's interest is with the taxpayer and the employees of the unions and not management of the unions he should step in and see if he can't resolve this strike.
