Police: 1 dead, 2 hurt following car race on Eisenhower
CHICAGO -- Authorities say one man is dead and two others are injured following a drag race between two cars on an expressway west of Chicago.
Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Joe Stangl says officers responded to a crash about 2:40 a.m. on Sunday on Interstate 290.
Witnesses told police that two vehicles were racing when one left the road and overturned.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the victim as 28-year-old Maurice Horton. He was pronounced dead at 4 a.m.
Another person was taken to a Chicago hospital in critical condition. A third suffered injuries that authorities said weren't life threatening.
