Scouting report: The Hornets are growing up. "We return the entire team minus Angel Selmon. While we will miss her defensive intensity and abilities, we add shooting and depth this season," Jen Belmonte said. The Hornets will look to Okoro for rebounding and scoring. Both she and Romiti were all-conference picks last year. "Romiti is more confident and ready to run the point," coach Belmonte said. Hinsdale South will get a good indication early in the season about how good it can be in its tip-off tournament. Beating rival Hinsdale Central and winning the tournament would go a long way toward building the Hornets' confidence.
