Cubs need changes at top, not on tops

A suggestion to the Cubs brass and powers-that-be: Spend more time putting a viable product on the field and less time trying to stick it to the rooftop owners.

You are blaming them for your drop in attendance when in reality fans are finally waking up to your little scam.

The Cubs organization can no longer depend on the ambience and mystique of Wrigley Field.

You have over-the-hill players laughing all the way to the bank.

You have overachievers who could not start on any other major league team.

You have a manager who looks like a deer in headlights.

What the Cubbies need to do is get some young, fresh blood flowing in the system. Ryne Sandberg's name should be at the top of the list!

Make the managerial change at the All-Star break. Psst! If you don't, there is a good chance Ryno might be the manager of the Baltimore Orioles in 2011.

You heard it here first!
