Lincolnshire Art Festival this weekend

If you love art or are just looking for something different to do outdoors this weekend, consider the Lincolnshire Art Festival.

Set to run Saturday and Sunday at the Village Green shopping center, the 13th annual festival will feature the work of 150 artists. It's free to attend.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. If you get hungry, food from area restaurants will be for sale.

Kids can enjoy the festival, too. Free art projects are planned. So is an unusual scavenger hunt that will send kids looking for different types of art.

Scavenger-hunt participants will get "Official Art Explorer" stickers.

An acoustic rock duo called Cirrus Falcon will perform throughout the weekend, too.

The Daily Herald is among the event's many sponsors. Others include Blick Art Materials, Broadview Security and Hinckley Springs water.

The festival is staged by Amdur Productions, which also puts on arts shows in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Barrington, Downers Grove and other Chicago-area communities.

The Village Green shopping center is on Olde Half Day Road at Milwaukee Avenue.

Free public parking will be available in lots adjacent to the festival grounds.

Overflow parking will be available in a lot less than 2 miles away on Half Day Road. All weekend, a free shuttle will take people to and from cars parked in this lot.
