Authorities investigate LaGrange train death
Authorities are investigating an Amtrak train fatality in LaGrange, which sparked delays for Monday evening commuters on Metra, as well.
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said a pedestrian stepped onto a track in front of the California Zephyr train about 4 p.m. Monday on the Burlington-Northern line, which runs through the West suburbs. Police and coroner's officials remained on the scene more than one hour later.
The fatality also is causing an about 30-minute delay in both directions for Metra riders. No further details were immediately available.
