McHenry Countybull; The McHenry County Sheriff's department arrested an Algonquin man this week on charges he ran a marijuana lab on the 1400 block of Cary-Algonquin Road, police said. Sheriff's deputies say they discovered 14 marijuana plants, 30 grams of processed marijuana and other items used to manufacture marijuana in the Algonquin home of 33-year-old Gustavo Rodriguez. Police found the lab while investigating an alleged domestic battery. Rodriguez was charged with three drug-related felonies and three misdemeanors, including domestic battery. The felonies carry a typical sentence of two to five years in prison or up to 21/2 years of probation. Rodriguez will have to post $5,000 to be released. His next court date is June 15.Elginbull; Daniel Guzman, 24, of the 500 block of Prospect Street, Elgin, is accused of hurting three police officers who arrived at his home Sunday evening to settle a domestic dispute. Police said Guzman bit an officer on the hand, resisted arrest and struck two others officers several times. Police were called to the home Guzman shares with his family because he had bitten a family member and hit that person on the side of the body, reports said. Guzman was charged with three felony counts of aggravated battery, one felony count of resisting arrest and two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery. His bond was set Tuesday morning at $20,000, and he is due in court June 18 at the Kane County Judicial Center. bull; A wallet, $123, a pair of Air Jordan shoes and sunglasses were stolen between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday from a 2002 Honda Accord in the 100 block of Brentwood Trail, reports said.bull; A man walked into the Subway restaurant at 66 Tyler Creek at 7:52 p.m. Monday with a blue bag yelling, "Robbery, robbery, robbery" and reached over the counter and took $300 from the cash register and ran away, reports said. No injuries were reported and no immediate arrests were made. The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall, wearing a blue knit cap, reports said.bull; A 30-year-old man told police he was jumped by about 10 men in the 1700 block of Gifford Street at about 11 p.m. Monday, reports said. The victim was punched and kicked and no arrests were made, reports said. The victim had minor lacerations to h his head and face and went to Provena St. Joseph Hospital, reports said.bull; Someone used a screwdriver to break into a 2004 Jeep Cherokee in the 500 block Hiawatha Drive between 6 and 7:45 p.m. Monday to steal an iPod and car stereo, reports said.Fox River Grovebull; Fox River Grove police are investigating three motor vehicle burglaries that occurred between Sunday and Tuesday that involved a 2009 GMC on the 400 block of Woodbine Avenue, a 2005 Kia on the 800 block of Norge Parkway and a 2010 Audi on the 800 block of Pleasant Street. A cell phone, keys, credit cards and a pair of iPods were missing after the thefts, and in every case the vehicles were unlocked police said.
