Chicago Fire at area World Cup viewing parties
The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that the club will participate in World Cup viewing parties at a number of locations throughout the Chicagoland area for the 2010 World Cup matches - Mexico vs. France on Thursday, June 17 at 1:30 PM CT, as well as the United States vs. Slovenia game on Friday, June 18 at 9:00 PM CT.
The Fire will be on hand at Mi Tierra Restaurant tomorrow, June 17 at 1:30 PM CT for the World Cup match between Mexico and France. Fire midfielder Julio Martinez will join fans to help celebrate the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Fire will continue their support of the United States Men's national team by hosting several viewing parties throughout the Chicagoland area on Friday, June 18 at 9:00 AM CT, including a media viewing party at Bull and Bear. The United States opening match against England was the most-watched FIFA World Cup first-round match ever.
The FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa marks the 19th edition of the World's largest sporting event. As the African continent holds its first World Cup, the best 32 nations will battle to achieve one ultimate goal, the World Cup.
