Brady says he best understands businesses' needs
Republican Sen. Bill Brady told the Illinois Chamber of Commerce that he's the candidate for governor who best understands the organization's needs because he's a businessman himself.
Brady spoke Friday at the chamber's annual meeting. His Democratic opponent, Gov. Pat Quinn, is expected to speak later in the day.
Brady says he'll help businesses by lowering the sales tax on gas, rolling back taxes on businesses and supporting litigation reform.
While he took Quinn to task for the state's budget crisis, he didn't offer specifics on how he'd balance the budget.
Brady and Quinn are vying for the chamber's endorsement in the November election. Brady told reporters after the event that he'd be surprised if he doesn't get it.
