Promenade of Art showcases wide variety of works

In the heart of Arlington Heights, the Promenade of Art returns for its eighth year this weekend, June 26-27. Produced in cooperation with the Village of Arlington Heights, the celebrated outdoor festival features the work of 150 juried artists from around the country.

Offerings include ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, wood and furniture.

Produced by Amdur Productions, the Promenade is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, is free and open to the public, at Vail Avenue and Campbell Street.

Activities for kids take place throughout the weekend, including an interactive art wall where children can help paint a mural. Food is available, including Ashby's Ice Cream, Greek Flame Food, Saigon Bangkok, Tornado Potatoes, Miss Kitty, Marino's Kitchen and lemonade.

Live entertainment from the acoustic band Cirrus Falcon, and French guitarist Michelet Innocent will play throughout the weekend.
