Hundreds gather for Jackson tribute at Ind. home

GARY, Ind. --- Several hundred Michael Jackson fans have gathered outside his Indiana boyhood home, waiting for tribute events there to mark the one-year anniversary of the pop star's death.

Fifty-year-old Yevette Irving of Lynwood, Ill., stood at the fence surrounding the house in Gary Friday afternoon as Jackson's hits were played over loudspeakers. She says she came to the home last year and that she plans to come every year to honor Jackson.

His mother, Katherine Jackson, visited the home in Gary on Thursday and is expected to take part in events that are to include the unveiling of a monument and a performance of "We are the World."
