Clearbrook clients get helping hand

Thanks to the Palatine policemen and firemen for the outstanding assistance they provided to the participants and staff at the Clearbrook Getz building yesterday.

Due to a possible fire, we were forced to evacuate the building. The police were first on the scene and quickly assessed the situation. After the firemen arrived, many policemen remained to assist with moving our participants to a location out of the scorching sun.

They arranged for all 150 or more of us to take refuge at the church across Illinois St. This required them to hold up traffic from all directions for quite a length of time while our staff assisted a multitude of our more physically challenged people to cross safely.

When we were able to return, the police again assisted with traffic and they readily helped in pushing wheelchairs and assisted those using walkers.

Their genuine help, compassion and care was exceptional and I want everyone to know how wonderful the men in uniform in Palatine are. On behalf of everyone at Clearbrook Getz ... thank you!
