First UMC to host Rev. John Dorhauer speaking on Christian nationalism

Learn about Christian nationalism with Dr. John Dorhauer, theologian, author and former president of the United Church of Christ on Saturday, Feb. 24, at First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Ave. in Downers Grove.

He has done extensive research on Christian nationalism and how it is dedicated to infiltrating churches, school boards, and politics across the nation.

Rev. Dorhauer served as the ninth General Minister and President of the Mainline Protestant denomination. He received a masters of divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in 1988, and a doctorate in ministry from United Theological Seminary in 2004.

Come, listen, and learn what is at stake for us and our democracy.

The program will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. with refreshments and an informal discussion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
