DUI sentence: A 49-year-old Des Plaines man who police say was drunk when he struck an auxiliary Rosemont police officer last year, was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday in exchange for his guilty plea to one count of aggravated driving under the influence.

John Salemi, of the 600 block of Pearson St., struck the auxiliary officer as he directed traffic at River Road and Wilson in Rosemont, authorities said. According to authorities, Salemi had a blood-alcohol content of .207 at the time.

He had faced up to seven years in prison.
