Des Plaines woman guilty in stabbing

A Des Plaines woman has pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic battery in which authorities say she stabbed her adult daughter last December.
Katherine Marek, 52, of the 7500 block of Elmhurst Road, stabbed her daughter in the abdomen after a fight they two were having escalated, authorities said.
According to court records, Marek was given 24 months felony probation in exchange for her plea. The daughter has since recovered from her wounds.
