Naperville man charged in April hold-up

A 20-year-old Naperville man was charged with armed robbery Tuesday in connection with an April convenience store hold-up.

Bond was set at $500,000 for Tywan Alexander, of the 1600 block of Kiowa Drive.

Naperville police were called to the 7-Eleven at 351 East Bailey Road shortly after midnight on April 10, according to police.

The clerk said a man wearing a mask entered the store and pointed a handgun at him while demanding money. The suspect struck the clerk on the side of the head with the gun and forced him to open the cash register before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Police said a Crime Stoppers lead them to Alexander, who is in custody at the DuPage County Jail.
