Special task force to join Stebic probe

A Plainfield police department that's been investigating the disappearance of a woman for three years is getting some help.

A task force made up of officers and crime scene technicians from 36 agencies in Will and Grundy counties, the Illinois State Police and the FBI will assist Plainfield Police detectives in their investigation into the April 2007 disappearance of Lisa Stebic.

In an announcement made Friday, officials said Plainfield police will continue to lead the investigation.

Stebic, a mother of two, was last seen in Plainfield in April 2007. Authorities have named her husband, Craig, a "person of interest" in her disappearance. However, he hasn't been charged with any crime and has denied involvement.
