Choose candidates who support Obama

I am frustrated listening to the background “noise” during this election season. The Democratic and independent electorates need to examine their consciences regarding this midterm election.

The impact of the global economy, the greed of the financial sector and the decline of the American manufacturing industry have been long-standing issues for over 30 years. The shocking confluence of decline in all sectors of the American economy in the fall of 2008 was a nightmare for all, especially a new president and his team. President Obama's efforts to manage these crises have been admirable. Studying the legislation that he proposed and passed reveals his efforts to provide policy balance and benefits for all strata of the American public and economy. Actions taken to stabilize the American economy and eliminate abusive business practices are showing success, with continued focus required.

In November 2008, President Obama won the trust of the American public with his message of change and warned us it would be hard. At this point, we are all feeling the impact of “skin in the game.” It will take more than two years of this administrations' term to stabilize and grow our economy.

President Obama deserves the trust, respect and support of the American public who put him in office. Elect the candidates who will support the president and keep a clear and independent focus on correcting the past 30 years of our own internal anti-American policy. If we don't, we are less principled than the naysayers, the right-wing media and fair weather supporters.
