How's your front yard looking these days?
How's your front yard looking these days?
Have you come up with a creative plan that welcomes guests to your home or are you struggling along with the straight rows of foundation landscaping that were popular 30 years ago?
Front yard landscaping design these days goes beyond hiding foundations and focuses on creating visual appeal and drawing attention toward the entryway.
Planting beds are extending into the front yards in various shapes, increasing visual appeal and creating more space at the entryway for a gathering place. These extended beds are home to much more than the boxed hedges of yesteryear. These can contain small trees, shrubs and ground cover, and usually allow room for perennials and some annual plantings.
If you're proud of what people see when they pull up to the curb or drive by your home, we want to hear about it. Send a note and up to four photographs describing your landscaping and how you achieved it with your name, address and phone number to HomeFront@dailyherald.com. The deadline is June 4. We will feature the best entries in a story and hand over a few prizes as well.
