Wheeling boy injured after bike collides with car in Arlington Hts.

A 14-year-old boy remains hospitalized after riding his bike into a car on Buffalo Grove Road Thursday evening.

Officer Doug Hajek, of the Arlington Heights Police Department, said the juvenile resident of Wheeling was crossing Buffalo Grove Road at Stanford Drive at 5:14 p.m. when he slammed into the driver side door of a Dodge Neon, driven by a 66 year old Arlington Heights female.

Hajek said several people witnessed the bike hit the car, then saw the boy flip up and come down hard on the upper frame of the drivers door.

He was transported from the scene to Northwest Community Hospital in stable condition, and is expected to make a full recovery, Hajek said.

No citations have been issued, but the accident remains under investigation.
