Police arrest 4 in Antioch burglary spree

Four juveniles were arrested this weekend after police tied them to a burglary spree in the area, authorities said.

Antioch police cracked the case early Saturday after being called to an apartment complex parking lot on the 200 block of Anita Terrace, where two people were spotted looking into parked cars, authorities said.

Officers saw them enter several unlocked cars and then flee, a news release stated.

One suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested quickly. Unspecified evidence was found about a quarter-mile away, and three 16-year-old boys were arrested later, police said.

Lake Villa and Round Lake police assisted.

After several hours of interviews and investigation, police linked the teens to multiple crimes in Antioch and Lake County, including three burglaries at Antioch's Faith Lutheran School, authorities said.

Two of the teens are from Wadsworth, one is from Antioch and one is from Wisconsin, police said.

All four were referred to juvenile court on theft, burglary and other charges, police said.
