Woodland Primary teachers celebrate Day of the Child

Woodland Primary teachers celebrated The Day of the Child last month at the Gages Lake school.

El Día del Niño, or The Day of the Child, began as a Mexican tradition in 1925 and has grown as an annual celebration throughout Mexico. This day recognizes children, pays homage to their importance in society and endorses their well being.

Parents were invited to volunteer and celebrate with their children. Everyone enjoyed food and beverages, and the children received individual mini piñatas. Traditional music and games also were part of the celebration.
