Minn. finds no violations in wrestling program

MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota says real estate transactions between wrestling coach J Robinson and former members of his team did not violate NCAA rules.

In a report made public Friday, the school says its five-month investigation found that the property deals were not part of recruiting and that he never helped current student-athletes.

The report has been submitted to the NCAA.

The investigation started after the Minnesota Daily reported Robinson sold houses to at least two former team members, who are now assistant coaches, and bought property from two other former wrestlers.

The university says Robinson has a history of helping staff members with property, whether they were previously on the team or not.

Robinson did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment Friday.
