Aurora picks firm to evaluate streets
Aurora has hired IMS Infrastructure Management Services to rate its 475 miles of residential and minor collector streets to help develop the most cost-effective maintenance program possible.
The company will use a laser road surface tester that evaluates the surface condition and a software program that allows the city to interpret the data to create an overall maintenance program.
IMS crews can evaluate up to 20 miles of streets a day and officials said the data collection should be completed by mid-July, depending on the weather.
