Sox send C Donny Lucy back to Charlotte
NEW YORK - Following today's game at New York, the Chicago White Sox optioned catcher Donny Lucy to Class AAA Charlotte and announced that they will return catcher Ramon Castro from his rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstate him from the 15-day disabled list prior to tomorrow's game vs. Kansas City.
Lucy, 27, hit .333 (5-15) with three doubles, one home run and two RBI in seven games (five starts) this season with the White Sox.
Castro, 34, was placed on the disabled list on April 4 (retroactive to March 29) with a bruised right heel. He went 2-13 (.154) with one home run and two RBI in four games with Charlotte on his rehab assignment.
Castro batted .219 (34-155) with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 57 games last season between the Mets and White Sox. He was acquired by Chicago on May 29 in exchange for pitcher Lance Broadway.
