3 sought after Batavia bank robbery
Police are looking for a man and two possible accomplices who robbed a Batavia bank Monday evening, officials said.
Police said a black man with cornrow-style hair entered Chase Bank, 130 S. Batavia Ave., around 5:15 p.m. Monday and implied he had a weapon. The man then ran east from the bank to a small, black two-door vehicle with a red pinstripe, possible an early 1990s Chevrolet Cavalier, waiting on the 100 block of Shumway Avenue, which then fled north.
The driver of that car is described as a thin white woman between 50 and 60 years old with gray hair and a black female passenger in her 30s.
This bank branch was robbed earlier this year, in February. According to bandittrackerchicago.com, a website operated by federal and local authorities, the Feb. 2 robbery was the 10th bank robbery in 2010. Monday's bank robbery would be the 68th, according to the website.
