Taking issue with immigration stance

The recent letter by Eugene Robinson is an example of a phobic racist reaction to a law made and wanted by a huge majority of the citizens of Arizona. The feds have not helped this state. Eugene's article brings up an false argument.

Let me point out a few reasons why Arizona and other states need this type of law. You can't travel anywhere in the world, if you are not a citizen of that country, without a passport. There are many people that spend years to legally migrate to the U.S. What about protecting legal citizens of the country? Why does he denigrate the police? What about the kidnapping, drugs, crime? What about jobs for legal citizens? Why does Obama not defend the laws of the land and our constitution and a sitting governor? Instead, Obama attacks a law by a state. What about identity theft, schools overcrowded, hospitals going out of business, and all the free government social services these illegals get?

Why not build a border fence? How about private property rights where these illegals go through citizens' land! Eugene is an example of misguided, emotional, progressive liberalism as is your paper becoming more like him.

I will never again buy your paper and will let everyone I know that your paper is often a liberal agenda that must be defeated.

I am still shocked at the editorial you people wrote when you endorsed Barack Obama for president. You guys sounded like lovesick teenagers in love, in secret for months and were finally able to tell him how you felt.
