Elginbull; Two men followed a customer from a convenience store in the 0-99 block of State Street, struck him in the head with a bat and kicked him while he was down about 9:15 p.m. Friday, reports said. They stole the victim's wireless phone, beer, bank card and $40, reports said. The victim was taken to Provena St. Joseph Hospital and received seven stitches above his eye and 10 staples in the back of his head, reports said.bull; Efrain Rodriguez, 20, of the 200 block of Monday Drive in Elgin, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:36 a.m. Monday after police were called to the 1300 block of North Lyle Avenue for a suspicious vehicle, reports said. Officers found 2.2 grams of pot and two pipes in a search of Rodriquez' vehicle, reports said.
