Kane Countybull; A running stroller was found abandoned Wednesday at a pond near Silver Glen and Randall roads, near St. Charles, police said. bull; A man told police he was attacked by two other men at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 47 and Baseline Road, near Sugar Grove. According to a police report, the man was sitting in traffic when he was approached by two men he knew, one of whom punched him in the face through a driver's-side window. When the victim attempted to get out of the vehicle on the passenger side, he was struck by the other man. The victim said he then ran through a ditch that came out on the other side of the road, where he watched the men flee north on Route 47 in a green Jeep Cherokee. When he returned to his vehicle, the keys were missing. The victim was treated at the scene for facial injuries including a bloody lip and a scrape on his right cheek, police said. bull; Several power tools of unspecified value were reported stolen Tuesday at Tom's Creative Landscaping, 43W370 Route 30, near Sugar Grove, police said. bull; Fire was set to a portable toilet Monday near Keslinger Road and Prairie Clover Drive, near Geneva. Police classified the incident as arson. bull; A man arrived home at 4:47 a.m. Monday to find a stranger sleeping on the floor of his hot tub hut on the 5N700 block of Crane Road, near St. Charles, according to a police report. When confronted, the stranger gathered his belongings and ran northeast. Police described the man as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 to 190 pounds, with salt-and-pepper hair and a gray beard. He was last seen carrying a green duffle bag and a red sleeping bag. bull; A white-and-yellow 2007 Cub Cadet lawn mower valued at $2,500 was reported stolen Monday from near a garage on the 35W700 block of Highview Court, near St. Charles, according to a police report.South Elginbull; Jason M. Schumann, 32, of the 1200 block of Jenna Drive, was charged with possession of cannabis, delivery of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Spring Street, reports said. Daniel Martin, 32, of he 0-99 block of Longwood Place, Elgin, and Kelly E. McVicar, 32, of the 0-99 block of Route 20, Hampshire, also were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. bull; Someone broke a window on a 1998 Chevy Blazer in the 300 block of Industrial Drive between 4 and 8 p.m. Monday and stole a purse, reports said.bull; Joshua A. LeClaire, 22, of the 200 block of Renee Drive, was charged with trespassing in the 300 block of South McLean Boulevard at 12:44 p.m. Wednesday, reports said. He was asking customers at a bar for money and cigarettes.bull; A blue 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with Illinois license K204053 and valued at $2,500 was stolen between 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday from the 300 block of South River Street, reports said.Genevabull; Someone stole six paperback vampire-themed novels from the adult section of the Geneva Public Library, 127 James St., between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. April 12, police said. They books were "Casual Hex," "A Sharpness On the Neck," "Song in the Dark," "Half the Blood of Brooklyn," "No Dominion" and one whose title is not known. The thief ripped the covers (which bear security devices) off the books and stuffed the covers under cushions of chairs in the adult section of the library. Librarians report book theft has happened several times in the last year, with six to 12 books being stolen each time and the covers found under the cushions.bull; Two windowpanes and the wooden trim were damaged from the inside on a side window of Structures and Trains by Fred, 12 N. Second St., it was discovered at 2:30 p.m. April 22, police said.bull; A thief broke in through a pickup truck's unlocked sliding window and stole the in-dash Panasonic CD/DVD stereo, a wallet, $300 and a $145 paycheck from California Pizza Kitchen, between 3:20 and 10 p.m. April 24 at Geneva Commons shopping center on Randall Road, police said.bull; A Dewalt tool kit was stolen out of the locked trunk of a pickup truck between 8 p.m. April 23 and 11 a.m. April 24 in the 500 block of Charles Drive. Taken were a cordless reciprocating saw, a cordless hammer drill, a cordless circular saw, a cordless grinder, a flashlight, three rechargeable batteries, a battery charger, a diamond blade and drill bits, according to a police report.bull; A Tom Tom GPS device and a black leather wallet were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of McKinley Avenue between 7:30 and 9 p.m. April 24, police said. A $2 bill, a debit card and a credit card were in the wallet. The debit card was used Monday at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin.
