Quincy man gets 11 years for burglary and ID theft

QUINCY -- An Adams County judge has sentenced a Quincy man to 11 years in prison for residential burglary and using a stolen credit card to go on a spending spree.

In passing sentence on 26-year-old Ted McMahon on Friday, Circuit Court Judge Bob Harwick also ordered him to pay more than $1,300 in restitution to the victim.

A jury found McMahon guilty last month of residential burglary and aggravated identity theft.

According to prosecutors, McMahon stole a credit card from a Quincy residence, and he and Henry Speirs II used the stolen card to go on a spending spree.

Speirs pleaded guilty in March to identity theft, and was sentenced to 30 months probation. He is now in the Adams County Drug Court program.
