Government again falls down on job

It would be foolish to stop drilling in the Gulf of Mexico despite the recent disaster. While many think we're the only ones drilling in the Gulf, there actually are many countries drilling down there. China, Mexico, Cuba and even Vietnam are all drilling in the Gulf.

There are over a thousand oil rigs drilling in the Gulf. The problem, I believe, is from what I have read is that the government agency failed once again to oversee the protection and building process that would have made the rig and auto shut off process installed properly.

Like the banking industry and loan process it seems more and more that our oversight committees continue to fail us. While the government loves to point fingers, maybe they should be looking in the mirror while they point.
