Palatine race to benefit Thai orphanage

The second annual Race for Sincere Hearts 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held May 29 in Deer Grove East Forest Preserve on the corner of Dundee and Hicks Roads in Palatine.

Proceeds go to Baan Jing Jai Orphanage in Pattaya, Thailand. The race is organized by Fremd High School students Victoria Moroney and Lisa Koenig. All registered runners receive an official race T-shirt and awards will be given out to the top two male and female finishers per age group.

There will also be raffle prizes, and a kids 7 and under 200 meter dash. Cost for preregistration is $20 for the 5K, $15 for the kids sprint. Race day registration is $25 for the 5K, $180 for the kid's sprint.
