Kane County Greens to host Bluestar Energy presentation

The Kane County Greens will host a presentation by BlueStar Energy at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31).

The presentation will detail BlueStar Energy providing renewable energy to residential areas. Attendees will learn how their electricity can be provided by an environmentally friendly method.

BlueStar Energy recently partnered with the city of Aurora to offer its residents renewable electric, at a 5 percent discount of their current rates, for their homes. BlueStar was incorporated in Illinois in 2002, serving commercial and industrial customers. In 2007, BlueStar became a certified Green-e Energy Renewable Energy Certificate marketer. In 2008, BlueStar became the first retail electricity supplier in the state of Illinois to serve residential customers.

The Kane County Greens was established in part to provide information about environmental and social issues to Kane County residents. For information about the Kane County Greens, write to Kane County Greens, P.O. Box 188, South Elgin, IL 60177-0188; or visit kanegreens.org.
