Golf outing to benefit PADSJourneys from PADS to HOPE will host its sixth annual Golf for HOPE fundraising event Thursday, June 10, at Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington. The Palatine-based organization provides supportive services to homeless in the Northwest suburbs and those at risk of becoming homeless. The event starts with an 8 a.m. registration and continental breakfast, followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Awards, a luncheon and raffle will follow in the clubhouse. Reservations are required by June 3. For more details, go to padstohope.org.Palatine H.S. band in DC:The Palatine High School Symphonic Band will perform Sunday at Schlesinger Concert Hall on the campus of North Virginia Community College before an audience of band members and directors from marching bands across the country that are participating in the Memorial Day parade in Washington, D.C. The band will be joined by Dale Clevenger, principal French horn for the world-famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra, in its performance of Mozart Horn Concerto in Eb, K.V. 447.
