Ehlo's take? Don't go, LeBron
Here's a glance at some of the latest developments as the Bulls search for a new coach and prepare to court top free agents:
Shot on Ehlo ... If Craig Ehlo wasn't the unfortunate defender during Michael Jordan's famous series-winning jumper at Cleveland in 1989, no one would ask his opinion. Wednesday, he visited with WMVP's "Waddle and Silvy Show" to discuss LeBron James' future.
"I think if he went to Chicago, it would break my heart, because I know he's a Cavalier," Ehlo said. "If he shows up in Chicago, look at the nucleus he's going to play with and grow with."
So Ehlo couldn't blame James for choosing the Bulls in free agency, but he equated such a move to Jim Brown retiring early and other Cleveland sports heartbreaks.
"LeBron carries not only the weight of his team on his shoulders, but the weight of this city on his shoulders, too," he said. "It's going to be devastating to that town if he does leave."
Short shots: The Bulls will conduct some informal coach interviews during the Chicago predraft camp, which is being held the next two days at Attack Athletics. ... Jay Mariotti claims Michael Jordan visited an area golf course recently and predicted LeBron James would sign with the Bulls. ... Doc Rivers called the idea of him coaching the Bulls next season "ridiculous."
