Garcia, 18, of the 2000 block of Berkshire Circle, Carpentersville, was being held on $80,000 bond Friday on charges she possessed less than 15 grams of cocaine during a Thursday traffic stop. During a Friday morning bond hearing, Garcia pleaded for Kane County Judge Bruce W. Lester to have mercy on her. But seeing that her record includes DUIs and at least one other drug offense, the judge wasn't moved. "Ma'am, I need to have mercy on the community," Lester said. Garcia's next court date is Thursday and if found guilty, she could spend between one and three years in prison.Elginbull; Thieves pried open a cash register between 8:50 p.m. Wednesday and 9:02 a.m. Thursday at a store in the 100 block of South Randall Road and stole 65 cents in coins but failed to take $500 from the store safe, reports said.
