Durbin must deliver jobs for Illinois
Mr. Durbin, where are you? I have just read of Mr. Quinn's vision for the Illinois State Police for the coming budget period. We are looking at a net loss of 460 State police officers.
This loss includes abandoning enforcement against one of the most insidious drugs on the streets, methamphetamine.
Having seen our senior senator in various photo ops in recent weeks beating the health care drum for President Obama, it is clear he is available for projects in which he has an interest. Durbin, one of the more senior senators in Washington, has a lot of clout.
Illinois is hemorrhaging safety and security, and jobs while Durbin has nothing to bring home. We won't even bring up the other Democratic senator. Mr. Durbin, let's close the Thompson deal and let's see the benefit of your senior status and bring some money to save these troopers jobs. We need what they do.
It is time for you to show up in Illinois Mr. Durbin. Let's do something for Illinois. Isn't that the point of you being there?
