Riverwalk improvements: Construction has begun on improvements to Naperville's Riverwalk from Eagle Street to the Free Speech Pavilion near Jackson Avenue and Webster Street. The work, expected to be completed by August, includes replacement of the bulkhead wall, improvements to the lower walkway, a complete redesign of the Youth Plaza, new landscaping and new sidewalks and lighting. The project will require daytime lane closures through June - although no closures will be in effect during morning rush hour. The work will include road resurfacing, replacement of curbs and gutters and some drainage adjustments. For details, visit www.naperville,il.us/ogdenresurfacing.aspx.Road work in Naperville:Naperville will begin work to improve traffic flow and amenities on 111th Street from Route 59 to Perth Drive during the week of May 3. Although 111th Street will remain open throughout the project, there will be daytime lane closures. Crews will widen and resurface the road, improve the intersection and add sidewalks on the north side.Lombard construction set:Lombard residents can learn about two planned construction projects at 7 p.m. Monday, April 12, at village hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. The Main Street Lighting Phase II project, set to being this spring, consists of the installation of decorative light poles and fixtures on Main Street from Grove to LeMoyne. The second project is the resurfacing of Main Street from St. Charles Road to Goebel, including curb and sidewalk repairs, road base repairs and asphalt pavement removal and replacement.
