Lakes makes strides at Highland Park
At Highland Park: Lakes continued to make strides at the Highland Park Twilight Invite, outpacing New Trier and Highland Park to win with 108 points.
The Eagles started by placing 1-2 in the shot put with John Pfeiffer (54-0) and Bill Brinser (53-0). Brandon Washington took second in the pole vault.
Lakes' Tyler Swindle was second in the 400 with an impressive time of 51.3 (FAT) after being hurt all week.
Coach Kurt Rowells said freshman Ryan Prais had "one of the most impressive meets in school history," running 1:59.82 in the 800 and 4:31.44 in the 1,600 to take second in both events.
Blake Franson placed fourth in the 800 and fifth in the 1,600.
Lakes sealed the meet with an impressive 1,600 relay, which was minus Swindle. The Eagles' Roland Luke, Nick Lillig, Joel DeGrave and Nick Tognocchi placed second.
